2007 Louis Martini Cabernet (Sonoma) $11.99
“A seamless amalgamation of Martini’s various Sonoma vineyards, the 2007 Louis Martini Sonoma Cabernet exemplifies balance and grace. As purple swirled around my glass, ripe, dark berries, fresh asparagus, mint and toasted oak rushed to my nose. On the palate, a mildly tannic, surprisingly complex and balanced Cabernet had the cojones to stand up to wines considerably more expensive. I leaned back into my chair to hear other opinions. Bob jabbed at a broiled crab cake and gruffly muttered the word “pedigree” over and over. I couldn’t agree more. This is another shining example of the stellar 2007 California Cabernets coming down the pike, but with one distinct difference: it’s only $12… We finished the bottle – a rarity at a tasting – and all agreed that this wine is special…the little engine that could. In a world of 90+ Cabernets that start at $25 and accelerate well into the hundreds, this is truly a white tiger. Go ahead and prove us wrong. At this price you can’t afford NOT to.”

2004 GORDON BROTHERS CABERNET 17.99 (16.19btc)
“The nose is greeted with warm aromas of cedar, seductive spices and chocolate, along with dark fruit. Full-bodied and rich, with a wonderful velvety mouth-feel and flavors of anise, cassis, black cherry and currant. Very lush and hard to resist. Pair this with a thick, juicy steak and earthy mushroom sauce.” 90 Points – Mark Stitt, B-21 Wine Company
2006 NEWTON CLARET 19.99 (17.99btc)
“Dense, inky blackish-purple hue. Pretty flavorings of boysenberry, maple and violets. Tart black cherry flavors with hints of black pepper supported by oaky tannins. Tangy finish with a continued black fruit, spice and backing acids. (A blend of 43% merlot, 41% cabernet, 9% cabernet franc, 4% petite verdot and 3% syrah.)” 90 points – The Wine News
2004 MATANZAS CREEK MERLOT 19.99 (17.99btc)
“Long on optimally ripened black-cherries and filled out with lots of creamy oak spice, this generous, very well-stuffed Merlot hits the varietal mark smartly both in terms of its fruity definition and its supple, slightly fleshy feel. It is firmed by a nice bit of integral tannin with nary a hint of toughness, and, while it requires little in the way of aging, it has the structure to keep for more than a few years.” 89 points – Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine
2006 WHITEHALL LANE MERLOT 19.99 (17.99btc)
“Appealing red currant and toasty sage aromas lead to sleek, supple black cherry, toasty vanilla and spice flavors. Drink now through 2014. 12,100 cases made.” 90 points, SDR

2007 MERRYVALE CHARD STARMONT 15.99
“Oak barrel aging provides sweet wood tannins and lush notes of vanilla and crème brûlée, but the real star of this wine is the fruit. It tastes of pineapples, mandarin oranges, green apples, kiwis, limes and Asian pears. Delicious and mouth-filling, and a bargain at this price.” 91 points – Wine Enthusiast, June 1, 2009
2007 PACIFIC CREST CHARDONNAY 11.99
“Full-bodied and fruit forward giving a lot of fig, notes of pear, citrus, mango, pineapple and mineral. Serve with grilled fish, chicken, salads, seafood pasta and cheeses.. Pairs well with bread, cheese, salads, buttered seafood and grilled white meats.” 90 points, Steve Rayman B-21 Wine Team
2007 BYRON CHARDONNAY 19.99
“Bright gold hue. Powerful scents of lemon, pineapple and oak. Viscous flavors of lemon custard, peach and apple cider. Creamy acidity and hints of vanilla mark the juicy close.” 91 points – The Wine News, Nov/Dec 2009
2007 RUTHERFORD RANCH CHARD 12.99
“There are 16,000 cases of this spectacular bargain in Chardonnay. This 2007 from, of all places, Napa Valley, is a beautifully fruited wine (orange blossoms, nectarines, poached pears, and a hint of pineapples) revealing little oak, medium body, zesty freshness, and gorgeously pure fruit. This dry, delicious 100% Chardonnay is best consumed over the next 1-2 years.” 90 points, Robert Parker
2006 STONESTREET CHARDONNAY 19.99 (17.99btc)
“Serious Chardonnays are being produced by new winemaker, Graham Weerts, at Jess Jackson’s Alexander Valley estate, Stonestreet. The 2006 Chardonnay Alexander Valley is a beautiful wine that exhibits notes of honeysuckle, poached pear, and tropical fruit in a medium to full-bodied style, with crisp acidity and a long, very subtle, smoky oakiness. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.” 92 points – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, Issue 174
2007 CUVAISON CHARD CARNEROS 14.99 (13.49btc)
“A beautiful Chardonnay with so much class and elegance, it’s a bargain at this price ($24). Shows lush flavors of pineapple crème brûlée, Meyer lemon custard and vanilla sorbet, balanced with crisp acidity and a fine touch of smoky oak. Perfect with shellfish.” 92 points – Wine Enthusiast, August 1, 2009
“Slice a late summer Bosc pear over puff pastry and bake it-the tart will taste a lot like the flavors of this chardonnay. It’s grown at Cuvaison’s estate vineyard, on 30-year-old vines. Though tightly built, the wine broadens into the finish, refreshed by a bristle of acidity. Decant it for roast veal with chanterelles.” 92 points – Wine & Spirits, August 2009
2008 BRANCOTT RESERVE SAUV BLANC 14.99
“This is crisp, offering a lively mouthful of peach-accented grapefruit and mineral flavors, all hanging on effortlessly through the long, graceful finish. Drink now. 15,000 cases imported.” 92 points – Wine Spectator, April 30, 2009
2007 MONDAVI FUME BLANC 14.99 (13.49btc)
“Always one of Napa’s best Fumé (Sauvignon) Blancs, Mondavi’s basic bottling is so good, it tastes like it has some grapes from the famed Tokalon Vineyard. It’s a rich, pure wine, brimming with gooseberry, fig, green melon and white pepper flavors, accented with zesty acidity. Great food wine, and a bargain at this price.” 91points – Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2009
